Hello all,
I am helping out a friend who is having some very troubling symptoms, which she believes mostly stem from stress. Her life is extremely stressful due to circumstances she cannot control or mitigate. She works full time at a physically demanding job and has a 3 year old daughter and is the sole provider for her household. She is 42 years old and also had diabetes. which she manages with medication.
Her main complaint is that she has difficulty sleeping. She can fall asleep well, but wakes after a couple of hours and is awake for long periods of time (hours) before she can fall back asleep or gets up. During the day, she lacks energy and motivation.
She also had headaches daily and often has severe pain all over her body, which she describes as her bones aching. She practices good sleep hygiene, (going to bed at the same time each night in a dark room, no screens before bed, no caffeine at all, etc.)
She also cooks most of her own meals, and tries to eat healthy. She has recently started intermittent fasting (16/8) as a method to improve her insulin resistance. She came to me, asking for some herbal recommendations, as she is uncomfortable taking pharmaceuticals for her pain, stress, and sleep issues.
I have her permission to consult here and get some good opinions, but I am thinking of recommending the following:
HeadAke Tincture
Rest Easy Tincture
Hops Tincture
Pancreas – Blood Sugar Tincture
Oat Straw TinctureI’d love to hear what you think, Doc Jones ( and others)!
Thank you!
PS: She is trying to obtain the results of her blood work that was done a couple of weeks ago, so we will also address any nutritional deficiencies that appear.

What pharmaceuticals is she taking?
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I noticed this was posted in August, so hopefully your friend found a solution.
An herbalist told me that stress can inhibit the digestion of protein. She gave me a digestive enzyme, and I changed an already healthy diet to 80% raw food. It has helped.
Changing my attitude toward my stressors has also helped. Change what we can, accept what we can’t change, and pray for the wisdom to know the difference:)
