Is mullein’s medicine damaged when simmered? (I keep running across info that says to boil it or simmer it for a while.)

Any tips on tincturing mullein? (It soaks up a lot of hooch!)

Does mullein speed lung healing when damaged? Or what lung healing properties does it have? (I’m wondering if it would help a COVID long hauler.)

Mullein doesn’t rely much on essential oils. So simmering isn’t very damaging. That said, If you powder if for the tea, there’s no reason to simmer.

It’s a fluffy, thirsty rascal. If you can compress is before you add the booze it’ll take less to cover it.

It has expectorant, nerve-calming and soothing properties in the lungs. I don’t know that it has healing properties for the lungs. Often when the lungs are damaged, there is scarring which can’t be reversed because the normal tissue has been replaced with scar tissue.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I was told I had “covid pneumonia” as determined by xray about a year ago. I am assuming that I have scar tissue from this? If there is any recommended support for such, I’d appreciate any feedback. (I was cleared of the pneumonia, per follow up xray 6 weeks later.)
