StudentMy dad has bone spurs, and I was kind of surprised that he asked for my help. He’s usually a little hesitant with natural remedies so I would love to be able to help if it’s possible. He’s also on prescription drugs so I am looking for something to apply topically.
Can antilithic herbs help topically? The closest I have to antilithic is dandelion root powder and goldenrod. Is it worth purchasing some gravel root?
Right now I’ve made him a salve from german chamomile oil (hopefully for inflammation) and dandelion root powder.
Any suggestions?
Thank you so much.

Homestead InstructorAnti-lithic herbs aren’t going to do the trick topically for a bone spur.
Anti-oxidant (elderberries are really good) internally can help as can anti-inflammatories. Turmeric is a really good one. Add some fresh-ground black pepper to increase absorption. The Joint Support tincture internally or topically is quite good for inflammation.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentI’m brand new, so forgive me if I’m not posting correctly – but this topic of Bone Spurs interests me too. I have read a lot on getting rid of inflammation, but I would like to know if bone spurs can be dissolved/gotten rid of, if so, what gets rid of them and how long does it take? I’ve searched online and found a site that says a combination of apple juice (8 cups), grape juice (8 cups) and apple cider vinegar (1 cup) taken 3x a day gets rid of bone spurs (just said take till bone spurs are gone, but how would you know? lol) – is that hogwash or would it work?

StudentGo down the topical magnesium track, got rid of mine naturally taking supplements and various other non herbal things on my heel spurs with inflamed tendons under the arches of both feet with nodules on the tendons. It’s the dance that calcium and magnesium do on the mineral wheel IMO.

StudentIn addition to tinctures internally, I have watched Barbara O’Neill (youtube lesson on “poultices”), and she states that castor oil packs will dissolve bone spurs (and things like fibroids as well). I have one friend doing this treatment currently, and I am doing it also (hoping that my issue is a bone spur and not a torn rotator cuff which “could” require surgery. Check out castor oil pack treatments and see what you think. I’m going with the castor oil, and in about 10 days or so, I’ll get my scan to see what the issue is so I know which way to go. If it’s rotator cuff, I believe that this device I just purchased (ShoulderRelief dot com) will strengthen and heal my shoulder. Sometimes surgery isn’t really needed – I have another friend who had a doctor who would not do surgery, he healed my friend’s torn rotator cuff with stretches and other exercises. Hope this info will help others as well.

StudentWe must think about why did the bone spur happen in the beginning. The bone spur appears or grows where the tendon is glued to the bone. If the tendon is too tight it is trying to rip off the bone. To stop this ripping off the bone the body will put more glue there ie a calcium deposit. So why is the tendon so tight all the time.. lack of magnesium is what I was led to. I have seen some cases where they have been in for surgery and then 6mths of recovery if they didn’t get a staph infection, also their immune system is slammed from the antibiotics post surgery and kidney and liver has taken a hit. Many times they are back in again because it can detach again, not only that they gain weight, depression sets in etc. They have not assessed the original cause lack of magnesium. The pain associated is from inflammation, so we must address that too. Ie reduce the inflammation.
I have heard of the castor oil thing and never taken that route myself, there are better quicker faster ways. On animals we use DMSO for this kind of thing, but one needs to read up and learn, it is a solvent and will take anything into the skin. It brings blood to the area and also takes down inflammation. (hope I am not in trouble on here for mentioning it) I use it on my animals with great success with magnesium oil and dmso. I also supplement zinc for them as that helps boost tissue healing. I ended up spending a lot of money at a podiatrist initially and they could not help me, at least in the mean time until I figured out something and fixed them they taught me how to strap both of my feet which was a bonus at the time. I don’t do anything now besides get the magnesium oil out if my muscles get tight, the bone spurs have gone. Also I confirmed that this can happen after talking to a lady (her daughter worked for me at the time) who had one of those gastric bands put on her stomach, she was morbidly obese prior. She said to me after the surgery she had liquid protein basically only for a long time. She said that she also was prescribed minerals and vitamins that she would be on the rest of her life because the food intake would not be adequate. Her doctor stopped her anxiety and head meds within a month or so, also stopped her diabetes and heart meds as she no longer needed them and to her great surprise her bone spurs disappeared. I was like totally wow. Sadly this woman will most likely end up near where she started off as she has figured out how to get around the gastric band by sucking on chocolate all day. It is sad that some simply will not change their habits and have to resort to such drastic measures. Anyway I thought the story of this lady may be of some use for some.
