Does sage help get mucus out of the sinuses AND out of the lungs?  Or just one of them?

To my knowledge, sage works well to “dry up” runny conditions. You can do steam inhalations to hit the sinuses and the lungs. You can also gargle with sage tea to help the throat (and lymph nodes I believe).

I am new to using herbal remedies, but doesn’t horseradish help with clearing sinuses?

                  Hi Jennifer,

Horseradish, cayenne and other hot things can be really  good for clearing the sinuses.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Yup. Sage is a good astringent.

I’m wondering if sage gets mucus out of the sinuses? (I thought that was an anticatarrhal. Am I wrong?)

Secondly, is it considered anticatarrhal BECAUSE it dries?

Sage has some decongestant/anti-catarrhal effects as well.

My astringency comment was in response to CarolAnn’s post.  :0)

Does sage increase or decrease cytokines?

                        Sage decreases cytokines.
