StudentHi All, what would you recommend for gastroparesis? His pylorus does not open and let the food move out of his stomach and acid builds up which causes terrible acid reflux and vomiting. He won’t drink herbal tea or alcohol tinctures consistently, so I was planning to suggest 3 capsules (size 00) one before each meal as a more consistent method of getting him to take herbs. I was considering a equal mix of Gentian (to help empty the stomach) and Chamomile (to relax the pylorus and reduce acid reflux). What are your thoughts?</span>

Homestead InstructorI’ve actually had great success using the Digestive Support formula for precisely that sort of thing. I like the powder better than the tincture. But either works.
Gentian and chamomile might work but you may have a harder time getting a guy that doesn’t love herbs to do gentian long term.

Homestead InstructorCalendula has been used for gut cramping and for constipation historically. I’ve never used it for either. It principle action for those situations is probably that it has some cholagogue actions (it stimulates bile production and flow). Bile lubes things up and moves them along.

Homestead InstructorYou know, come to think of it, depending on the cause of gastroparesis, the Rezzimax Tuner can sometimes really help. It stimulates vagus nerve function and can really get the guts to wake up and do their jobs sometimes.
I talk about how it fixed my guts after brain surgery in this blog article:
