As I have enrolled in the school and am working my way through this amazing new knowledge, I have been praying to be able to learn how these herbs work. (I immediately realized that I was setting myself up to be a guinea pig and have been more reluctant to ask the powers that be to answer this request. Ha!  I have been taking this course for the last few months and have already had some amazing experiences!)

Last night, while having a good sleep I realized that I had pain in my right big toe.  I tried to not bother about it as I was having such a good sleep and couldn’t imagine why this would all of a sudden develop in the middle of the night.  I do have diabetes and thought it could be related to neuropathy, but this was very isolated and I had no familiar neuropathy pain, and I have a pretty good handle on that.  Sometime later I realized that the issue was getting worse and I had better not put off dealing with it.  I began to wonder what I should do and what herbs would be best to try.   (While taking this course I have begun building quite an herbal apothecary.  I have collected and harvested quite a few herbs and made many tinctures to have on hand.  Great for this middle of the night need!)  I first thought of the wound formula but I just wasn’t “feeling it.”  Then I thought of the Arnica liniment that I made as my homework assignment, (which I used with amazing effect when my hands were sore and tired form chopping a bunch of yellow dock and yucca roots one day!)  I grabbed that but that didn’t seem quite right either.  I walked back into my “apothecary” I remembered I had been dreaming about calendula.  (I love the formulas that Doc Jones has taught us, but I also really want to get familiar with the individual herbs.)  I had recently made a calendula tincture and I rubbed that into my toe.  My toe was more sore than I expected but could see no indication why it would be so, maybe a litte bump on the side inbetween my toes. It was also a bit swollen and seemed that this was progressing.  I was getting worried!  A big day ahead of me!

After a few minutes I began to feel some light twinges around my toe and foot.  Was this a good thing or bad?  Then I began to notice the soreness easing.  Not too long later I was back asleep!  Just one application in the middle of the night!!!  I definitely put more tincture on in the morning and now an hour or two later am nearly 100%.  Wow!!!  I am going to take some “wound formula” tincture internally today.  (I have had it in the tincture making process)  It can’t hurt!

Thanks Doc for sharing all of this amazing information!!!!

        Anyone have any similar experiences?

          Two good lessons here.

          1. Although no one ever talks about using Calendula for pain, it is a very effective anti-inflammatory.
          2. Listen to that still, small voice in your heart and head. He invented all these plants and gives excellent customer support. :0)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Yay! Can I give a shout out to Calendula? My hubby bruised ribs from a fall while Mx riding. I gave him Calendula tea for a few nights and, then, he drank it daily for weeks … loving how he felt. He seemed to retain stamina during his rides and/or recover better from his riding workouts. It took me running out to get him off of it, LOL.  (just around that same time his dr said he has some Atherosclerosis soooo maybe why he was feeling so good with that tea)

And my daughter put my First Aid balm (calendula included) on her constant case of razor burn with phenomenal results. She was raving to her her friends.

            Thank you, Lord, for Calendula.
