Living in Wyoming, I was thrilled to find out Echinacea was useful for snakebite.  Online I followed up on what I read and was surprised by the conflicting advice on whether to use angustifolia or purpurea.  Some of the discussions were quite heated.  As purpurea is easier to grow, is it helpful with snakebite, or do I need to keep some of both on hand?

I’ve been using E. purpurea on snakebites for years. I’m happy with either.

Look at the Venomous Bites and Stings lesson in the Diseases Section for details on how I treat them.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
