With the current Infant Tylenol shortage, I’m wondering what is a safe herbal alternative for my grandson who is 1 year.  Currently he has a fever of 101.3 and seems to have a sore throat.  The shelves are empty, we found one bottle of infant Tylenol in the whole town (It’s small, but there are 5 stores)  This is a little scary.  I know the fever itself is ok, but the little guy is in pain.

A strong marshmallow cold infusion with a little licorice helps sore throats.

Or, you could do some math.

Calculate the number of milligrams the dose of baby tylenol would be.

          Grind up an adult tablet

Dilute it with some amount of liquid

Give the kiddo the proper dose.

So, for example, if the kid dose were 50 mg and you had an adult tablet that was 500 mg, you grind it up, and add it to 10 ml of juice. That 10 ml contains now contains 500 mg. If you give the lil rascal, 1 ml of that mix, he just got his 50 mg. :0)

I have no idea what the kid dose of Tylenol but it’ll be on the box.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
