what would peat moss do for dogs digestion?

Peat moss? Honestly, I have no idea. I’d worry a lot about introducing bugs to the gut that were growing in the peat moss.
Are you trying to do something specific for the gut? There are lots of great gut herbs and gut supplements.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

I was sent a dog digestion supplement as a product to review and most ingredients are fine but I have a few reservations about it. I’ll not be giving it to my dogs. Maybe my chickens…. anyway ya I never heard of it but as far as I can find online its a additive to many dog foods(?) and its for ruminents on Big Ag stuff i see. I want nothing to do with what Big Ag puts in our anything. Thank you very much for the help.

Have a look at the Digestive System lessons. Anything there we’re doing to humans can be done to dogs too. :0)
Also, have a look at the Digestive Formulas lesson in the Formulas & Formulations section. Those are all dog friendly too.

I’m looking for a a copycat recipe for something like Dinovite or RuffGreens. Can that be accomplished with just herbs? My 8yo German Shepherd has pretty serious itch, even in his sleep. No thin or bald spots, no open sores though he does chew a bit on his legs because of the itch. I’ve added cod liver oi to his grain-free feed, often add a couple raw eggs from our chickens. We live in Alaska, so fleas, etc. are not so much a concern here.
