Hey Doc, hope you are doing ok – haven’t seen you posting in a few days, so praying that you and your family are all doing ok, just busy!

Ok, I’m cruising thru some of Richard Whelan’s monographs, and it has prompted a couple more questions (fancy that from me!!) LOL!

Cleavers sounds like something that a person who cannot tolerate heat at all might benefit from – it seems like it cools the hot person.  Correct or incorrect assumption on my part?  If so, it seems like it is one that could be taken as a “tonic” long term…?

And then Astragalus – it sounds like an amazing immune booster that would be as good or better then Elder (and probably really great together).  Another one that sounds like a good “tonic” for long term?

Thanks Doc – you rock!  Stay well and hope to see you back on the forums again soon.  Your wise input is missed!

Astragalus is pretty warming. If you want to cool off, it wouldn’t be my first grab. I also don’t think I’d do an immune stimulating herb long term as a tonic. I think immune stimulating herbs do their job better if they’re used as needed. Cleavers would be fine as a tonic as would nettles, burdock, alfalfa and lots of others.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
