Would herbs maintain their medicinal properties if I freeze salve bars (herb oil and beeswax) for making lotion later?

If no one knows, then I guess I’ll keep you updated as I experiment : )

I was curious about this as well. I have some parsley from last year’s garden that I put in Ziploc bags and stuck in the freezer. I’ve read that dried herbs have a shelf life of about a year when dried, but is the shelf life prolonged if the fresh herbs are kept in a frozen state?

Not sure about its medicinal properties, but I freeze fresh herbs for cooking purposes.  I keep dill in a well sealed baggie and snip off as needed.  Close it tight or your ice cream will taste like dill too.  For chives, parsley and basil I puree them with olive oil (or make into pesto/sauce) and freeze in small quantities to use through the winter.  The flavor and color is maintained well.  I use everything up within a few months and by then the garden is producing again.

Frozen herbs will get you through the winter. I’ve done that with plantain before. I have no idea what the actual shelf life would be long term. I’ve never seen any studies. I also have no idea what the shelf life of a frozen salve bars would be though I’m sure it’d be fine short term.

There are lots and lots of other things I have no idea about…but I have no idea what they are. :0)
