So I am making some Clove and Elderberry tincture (separately). Is 40% alcohol good enough for either of these or is the clove perhaps a bit more stubborn? It was certainly messy enough when powdering it – seemed kind of resinous… Advice please? And thank you!

I use vodka for both of those. You could use something stronger for the cloves if you wanted as they are a bit oily, but honestly, the vodka extract works fine whenever I use it.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
