I need ideas on treating what I think are mites on one of my Nigerian dwarfs. He has very crusty white skin flakes coming off all under his leg hair and I think I see white looking bugs. This happened once last winter and most of his leg hair fell off and the skin looked awful. I got desperate and used chemicals to treat bc I caught it late. I am hoping I caught it early enough to treat it naturally this time. I have been trying to regularly coat my heard in diatomaceous earth but we got behind the past month or 2. I’ve heard mixed reports on how well that works. Today I put VetRx on his back and legs today. I read that might work but I’m not sure how often to apply it. Any other ideas?? Thank you!!

I know nothing about goats so this really may not help at all, but with chickens some people swear by putting garlic and apple cider vinegar in their water to prevent mites. I’ve been trying that for my chickens. I can only assume the same would work with other animals. And sorry, I don’t know what to do about an existing infestation. Maybe someone else can be more helpful.
