StudentHello everyone! My cat continues to have bladder inflammation issues and our vet has been prescribing us with  strong anti-inflammatory meds to treat. I see there is a pet UTI or bladder stones formula available but I am wondering which would work best for this issue? Any suggestions on formula modification? Do you think the capsule forms are too big for a cat to swallow? I am also wonder how quick acting the herbs can be when I notice the issue starting and maybe there is a maintenance herb option? I have also not fully completed all of the courses so I apologize if this information is taught already. I appreciate the help!
Ps- I will gladly take any advice you may have to encourage my cat to drink more water. I feel like I have tried every option. Thank you!!

StudentI have been using parsley and marshmallow for my dog, but I have no problem getting her to eat and drink. It really does work. I make a cold infusion in a smoothy blender. Let it sit in the fridge overnight. Then strain it (I do not care if some bits remain). It keeps in the fridge about 5days. Hope this helps.

StudentTopic AuthorThank you for this! Do you do this as maintenance or only when inflammation occurs?

Good call Paige. This is exactly what I was going to recommend. :0)
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentSo the herbs that dogs can take work as well for cats? I had referred a friend to the HerbPets site for her cats but she was put off that there were only pictures of dogs.
Can they take tinctures, or is powdered in water better? I would guess powdered, but surprise me!

StudentUnfortunately, my dog has constant bladder infections because she has no control of her bowels and bladder. The parsley and marshmallow really help. When it gets bad, I add some oregon grape and echinacea. I forgot to tell you I also give her a 1/4 tsp of 1 part Plantain, 1 part Chamomile and 1/2 p licorice powder. However, I really think it is the parsley and marshmallow cold infusion that works on a continual basis.
