StudentWhat are some herbs that would help with these conditions (strep, staff or mersa) when antibiotics will not?

StudentI read a research report about oak, which produces quercerin (a powerful antiviral/antibiotic), and it seemed to have some positive implications in fighting those particular bacterial infections. All parts of the oak tree is medicinal: roots, inner bark, leaves, and even the unripe (still green) acorns. Topically, I also read a report about the properties of chaparral (aka creosote bush) as a topical antibiotic for wounds and such.

Homestead InstructorI’ve addressed a number of MRSA cases over the years. I use Immunity Support internally And INFXN-BugBuster internally and topically. So far so good.
Both of those formulas are in the Infectious Disease Formulas lesson in the Formulas & Formulations section.

StudentHow long did you have people on the immune support and bug buster? Should someone do a cleanse before starting. My little brother has been on antibiotics for months with no help for his MRSA.

StudentRebekah, Seriously, I would not worry about “how long” to be on it. You want to gain control of the situation as soon as possible. Dee above, mentioned berberine. Doc Jones sent a link showing bugbuster, which has Oregon Grape in it. (berberine) All I know is, I believe I had cellulitis. (back then I was confusing it with mersa, staph and worse) I cant take antibiotics. I believe I was taking berberine internally and tea tree topically. If its going to work, you will see a turn around in short order. Once things turn around, it will just gradually get better and better. In my case . . . I had to be careful and vigilant for quite some time afterwards. But, once you see a turn around, it is a huge relief. That is what you want to happen. Turn it around as quickly as you can. NOTE: back then I was taking it in capsule form. I am notorious for not digesting capsules. Had I taken the berberine without the capsule I most likely would have seen faster results. Personally, I have to stay away from chocolate (esp. non-organic chocolates) and sugar of any kind (and I mean any) I hope this helps. Well wishes for your little brother! (I personally would fight the infection first) Doc would know best of course.

StudentHe’s been to the doctor and it is MRSA. So he has the corrected diagnosis so that is good. The doctor tried him on several different antibiotics, the MRSA just laughed at that! So I think something herbal might be in order.
He has Downs Syndrome so I don’t want something simple and would rather not hassle him with a cleanse if though it wouldn’t make him ill, he would just be less than thrilled with the process. Do you know if you have to do a cleanse before you start treating a disease?
Sugar won’t be a problem. You would have to force feed him in order to get him eat candy or sweets.

Homestead InstructorOn cases like that I’d keep using the herbs for a couple of weeks after everything seems resolved.

StudentRebekah, The cleanse takes too long to go through, you need something fast. What Doc said above seems to be the perfect answer. He knows what he is talking about. I would trust him with this. There are certain things that Down Syndrome people arent suppose to take, I cant remember what they are right now. I think it has something to do with being hypothyroid. You may also want to read what Dr. Weston Price has to say in his book: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration about Down Syndrome! You’ll be surprised if not shocked.
re: cleanse: You basically only take one thing per day for a week. But, its 7 weeks long. You dont have that kind of time. I am very sensitive and I am doing ok on the cleanse. I may have had to cut the doses down to half at times in the beginning. Only because I am sensitive and not a big person. Its better for me to titrate up at times, but, I dont listen to my own logic and think I can get away with what normal people can get away with. I am doing the colon KLNZ for two weeks instead of one because I had to go slower at first and skipped a day or two. Again, I dont think you have time for this. Maybe afterwards in time? Doc made it so people could still function and go to work. You could also cut all of the doses in half for the first day and see how that goes. You could also do the cleanse yourself and then you would have a better understanding of the process.

StudentIf he likes drinking tea maybe the Cold Day Boost along with the other suggestions would help. Immunity support and calming chamomile. He could drink it at any time all day. And I would definitely follow Doc’s advice.

StudentRebekah, Keep Thyroid Stim in the back of your mind for further study regarding down syndrome situations. It might just help ameliorate future situations. But this needs more research and study.
