I am wondering how much of the foliage of a plant could be taken from a perennial, in this instance my feverfew, and still let the plants have enough to feed the roots for next Spring.

It probably depends on the age of the plant. If it’s a first year plant, I’d suspect it will be a little more needy. An older plant with a well-established root system could give more.
How’s that for vague? 😉 Maybe someone smart will come along with a better answer.
