So, here in the south and Midwest we have this stuff. Is it usable medicinally?
The plant volunteered in my grape arbor and it looks sooooo much like E. perfolium. And it talked to me some. Very friendly and welcoming. The insects love the flowers.
But I haven’t been 100% convinced, something kept niggling at me, that it was NOT E. perfolium and today I got confirmation that it was E. serotinum instead.
It’s related to Joe Pye weed and was used by the Houma Indians kinda like gravel root, so I read.
But….
I dunno nuttin’.
And I’m not going to ingest or use it until I am sure that I know what it’s good for.
So I have a quart of dried plant and flower material which is so pretty in the jar and I need to use it or compost it. Whaddya know?
