        Have a horse with an abcess on the sole of his foot. An idiot (me) let his bandage get compromised with dirt. What is the best thing to treat him with at this point? I already have him on calendula and comfrey for a different issue.

          I don’t know if this is available in the US, but in Canada there is a products called Fiskes. You gently flush the wound and you put this oily substance on it. It is in every serious horsemans’ first aid kit up here. It is natural and works well. We have used it successfully many times. You can find it online if it isn’t available to you otherwise.

          I am not affiliated with them in any way. We just appreciate their product.

            for my horse that had an abscess on the bottom of her hoof i made a pultice with plantain, chia seed ground up, colloidal silver, and calendula and then cut out a foam pad and gorilla taped it on and then vet wrapped it. changed it once every other day and it healed great
