        Hello

I’ve done online searches and searched this forum for information about lobelia but I haven’t found anything pertaining to my questions regarding lobelia use for hypertension:

        1) Does it matter which kind of lobelia to use? I have the lobelia that has dark purple flowers and narrow leaves. It’s a pretty little plant but I want to make sure it’s the right one to use.

        2) Is it the leaves and flowers that are harvested?

        3) How much to safely use to prevent vomiting as well as prevent sudden hypotension?

        4) Which form is safest to use for hypertension? Tea, tincture, other?

Any helpful information that you would be willing to share, I would be very grareful!

        Thank you!

Most of the decorative Lobelias in flower baskets and such are Lobelia erinus…a very diffrent plant wth different properties. You want either Lobelia inflata or Lobelia cardinalis.

          2) Is it the leaves and flowers that are harvested?

          All aerial parts.

          3) How much to safely use to prevent vomiting as well as prevent sudden hypotension?

!/4 teaspoon of tincture. 1/2 teaspoon of powder for most people. You’ll have to see what works for you.

          4) Which form is safest to use for hypertension? Tea, tincture, other?

Doesn’t matter. If you don’t want the risks associated with Lobelia, try cramp bark.

Any helpful information that you would be willing to share, I would be very grateful!

          Thank you!
