We’ve had a cold at our house for almost a week. I’ve been using mullein, hops and Shoofloo formula. Last night my daughter (3) developed a croupy cough. So I’m guessing I’ve been coming at this wrong. I was considering switching to the bug buster. Also, I am adding a garlic salve. I worry about my son (turning 2 in August) developing croup also. I guess I’m wondering if anyone else has suggestions or experiences with treating croup in Little kids.

Croup is usually viral, often parainfluenza but can also be caused by other viruses. I’d add some Immunity Support. There are good cough and expectorant herbs talked about here:

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Thanks Doc! I do want to report that the night following my original post we only had a croup cough once or twice with no stridor, and oxygen levels were fantastic. That next day  (and following night) there was no croup cough (or coughing in general). I was so happy that they kicked it fast, and it never got scary. Looking back I think we were dealing with croup longer than I realized and the worst night manifested itself like a typical first night of croup.
