Will we have horse specific modules added at some point?

I’d love to see info on herbs for treating laminitis and bowed tendon/ligaments and there application.

Eastern Equine Encephalitis has started spreading. Are there any herbs that would help?

Herb help  for white line disease in horses would be awesome.

I had an awful case of white line disease in my donkey, and the farrier said she would probably always get it there. When I got her, the white line was deteriorated up to about a 3/4 inch from her hair line. The farrier trimmed it all back. And then I started picking it out thoroughly and rinsing with colloidal silver twice a day. The next time the farrier came back, she said she had never seen the white line disease halted so quickly and new hard hoof material building. Although she wasn’t versed in natural approaches, she was really curious about my treatment and said to keep it up until 100% of the hoof was built out of new hard material. Now it has been 2 years, and my donkey has never had white line disease again! Just thought I’d share that experience.

thanks for this!  I had recently started using a colloidal silver, ACV, & tea tree oil mix on my horse’s white line, so was happy to read your comment.  I’ll keep at it! I have since upped the ratio of the silver.

My horse’s barefoot farrier is coming again tomorrow.  I really feel like the hoof is finally improving!  Curious to see what the farrier says.  Still continuing with the CS, ACV spray and added dried nettles to my boy’s supplements for hoof building.

That’s amazing! I have dealt with white line several times in the past, a lot of resection & not much success, these were boarders at a farm that I worked at, they were not keen on a lot of turn out however, one boarder tried essential oils and she seemed to have the best results!  Colloidal silver helped my mare heal from a terrible wound, it is an amazing product!  Best of luck in the future!

We lost our draft mule Ned to white line after battling it for 11 years.  I never tried your remedy….

I have a mare who has blue eyes and is “prone” to uveitis according to our vet and the U of FL.  She has to wear special fly masks daily here in FL.  I too would love to have an herbal treatment.

Hi. I also have a horse with heaves. Did you figure out what herbs to use?

We lost a horse to heaves a few years ago, and now we have a mare with it badly here in central FL.  She also has Cushings.  I hope we can find herbs to use.  I put her on the Histamine powder and AZMA powder yesterday…..

I bought Respiratory AZMA powder for our horse who has summer heaves. She just stands and pants and tries to breathe. We lost a horse to this a few years ago – heart gave out. Since giving her 2T twice a day starting 3 weeks ago, she is almost good as new. Amazing!! The vets couldn’t do anything for her.

I will do some horse modules for issues humans don’t have. For the most part, herb use in horses is going to be identical to how we use them in humans.

I’ve just started a Veterinary Herbalism section. That’s where I’ll put the lessons.

                                              Veterinary Herbalism (New Section!)

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
