My young dog keeps shaking her head but doesn’t have any bugs that can see and no redness or itching or anything. What can I put in her ears to try to get things out?

Do you have cheat grass or foxtails in your area? If so, you may want to consider taking her to a vet to make sure she doesn’t have any in her ear. Those can be a big issue for animals this time of year.

Could she just have regular ear mites? It seems that our dogs shake their heads as a means of itching their ears. Normally the only symptom we see them having is the head-shaking (no redness or other signs of irritation) but when we treat them for ear mites, it often clears up. So far we haven’t found an herbal remedy for the ear mites (would love to have that option though). And we treat all the animals together to knock the mites out for longer.
