        Hello all from Canada,

We are both novice herbalist here and I’ve been having some issues with mobility on both big toes, so I recently seen my Doctor and after x-rays and ultrasound I was told I had ” servere ” arthritis and not much he  could do. I was referred to a podiatrist  but looking at a 2 yrs( Canada has Doctor issues) before consultation.

Now I can deal with the out of the blue Sharp pain like being hit with a hammer and chisel and limits of movement,,,,,,, Butt a 2yr wait is a Nuts.

So my Janet and I have tried a few herbal remedies for inflammation and pain such as ” turmeric and pepper” , dandelion or cayenne. I even made a Comfrey poultice and Salve which helped a little. No exotic herbs grow in my area so I kept to what I have.

Has anyone else had any success with other formulations?

As a ” new” herbalist I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

        Thank you and Cheers

        Doug

I know that Doc has mentioned that putting stinging nettle on a place that has arthritic pain can help relieve the pain, might be worth a shot

Have a look at the Pain Management lessons. Lost of good info there.

For arthritis, you basically have two avenues, anti-inflammatories and nervines. I’d have a look at the Joint support formula for internal use and I’d spray hops or skullcap or one of the other nervines topically as needed.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
