        Greetings fellow students & others,

Almost two years ago I started a pokeweed (aka poke sallet or poke salad) root oil. The poke weed root chunks/slices are still in the clear mason jar, which has been “stored” on a desk top under artificial lights for the most part (LED). No UV light.

Oil is clear until I shake it and the sediment stirs.

It doesn’t have that rhubarb scent that was noticeable when it was newer – but then again the root chunks have been submerged in oil for a long time.

This is for external use only (being made from poke) and I want to try it on my husband’s Dupuytren’s contracture which is on the palm of his hand.

        Thanks for any input.

Oils don’t typically have a very long medicinal shelf life. It won’t cause him harm to try it, but it’s likely not very potent at this point. Topical tinctures are fantastic for things like that.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
