Tha Sarracenia Purpurea aka Purple Pitcher Plant ( Saddle Flowar ) was used fer a small pox Remedy by tha Indigenous People of that time era.. Aftar I had done My Own Re’search on small pox , I did’nt hav any Purple Pitcher Plant grow’n on My Farm, but I order’d 3 young plants to make a Tincture.. I now hav that Tincture on Hand .. ( Do Yer Own Re’search fer clarification ) .. 🙂

I had ordered what I thought was a tincture of the Northern Pitcher plant (sorry I spelt pitcher wrong above) but what came (and I did not know it until recently) was that it was in MTC oil and the expiration date is next month. I am not sure if I can add alcohol to the MCT oil to preserve the product or not. I am not that far along in the course.  I would not mind ordering some plants as well. I will have to look into that! Thanks again, Ruth!

That’s a wonderful thought, I’m not that fer a’long eithar to be able to clarify that , but hav Yu writ’n to Doc Jones ask’n Him His know’ledge on that ? I’m sure He wud find that interest’n Him’self .. I ordar’d My Plants out of Wilmington North Carolina .. Thay were small, but I got 3 , that made a pint size Tincture .. It turns this bute’aful purple colour .. I thank Yer smart to hav’ thought ahead on small pox cause history seems to re’peat It’self, espeacially these days with ” modernized help ” ..

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for the “Wilmington North Carolina” info. I do not know if the northern pitcher plant is esp. more potent or not. Probably not. It does grow here, I think near bogs. I have a friend that knows where some is. But, its probably 2 hours away. I “should” be able to find some growing wild. However, buying some plants would be very nice too.
As far as trying to save the oil . . . I am going to research the classes asap. Thank you
