When is the best time to move perennial herbs? I need to relocate some yarrow and St. John’s Wort. I did not know St. John’s Wort would take over and herb garden haha.

I would assume that it would be best done when it is dormant. That is when we move any fruit trees or bushes, although I’m not familiar with moving those specific species.

            Hi Rachel,

If I need to move perennial herbs I like to do it as soon as the ground is workable in the spring, while the plant is still dormant or just starting to grow (I’m in MI, zone 6a). That gives the plants a chance to get established over the growing season in their new “spot” before the ground freezes.  🙂
