Hello!  I am a relatively new student and still learning the ropes.   I am looking for information to be able to pass on as advice to my sister-in-law.  My young niece has been experiencing “tummy difficulties” for a number of years and has gotten markedly worse.   After many trips to the doc(s) [not Jones!] it has been determined that she has advanced giardia and tape worm.  (yikes!  poor kid).  The doctor also told my sil that my niece may have some organ damage.

I am looking to advise her to first take daily doses of raw garlic.  I take a homemade preparation of chopped lemon, chopped raw garlic and raw honey overall as “tonic” (I’ve grown addicted to the taste and mostly take it now because I LOOOOVVVEE IT!) and think that maybe the honey will help with the taste, but wasn’t sure if that would affect the garlic’s medicinal properties?  As I write it out, it sounds like a stupid thought, but….

Also advising her to consume pumpkin seeds and am looking into milk thistle.  I’m also wondering if the possible “organ damamge” could be helped by marshmallow which I remember Doc saying “talks cells out of dying” on one of his youtube interviews.

I’ve searched on various places here, but not found what I’m looking for.  I will continue to look, though: what an amazing resource to have!  So thankful!

Knowing specifically which organs are damaged would help us to bark up the correct tree.

Was the doctor a naturopath or an MD? What testing was done?
The reason I ask is that naturopaths are, occasionally, delusional ding dongs who use no real diagnostic tools to make diagnoses. One of their favorite things to diagnose (with no data whatsoever) is “parasites”.

The other reason to know if it’s an MD or something else is that the MD will use pharmaceuticals (not a bad idea in a serious case as described) which will affect herb choices.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
