What are your thoughts on using triple antibiotic on a cut or soar on a dog

I would use an herb that is antibiotic qualities. Something like Calendula, oil of oregano, or even use colliodal silver. Yarrow powder or tincture on open wounds or comfrey…the list of antibiotic herbs goes on. Anyway, I have had great success with colliodal silver and eye infections, CS and yarrow powder on open sores like hot spots. While I have many salves around that could be used, I tend to stick with tinctures, teas and powders on animals because they won’t attract dirt to the area.

Topical antibiotics aren’t dangerous to dogs. The only problem is that they get licked off. As Theresa said, there are lots of good herbs for wounds as well. Have a look at the wound management lessons. Everything there is good for dogs too.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
