StudentI have had a chronic cough for about 3 weeks. I am taking an herbal supplement that has helped me in the past, along with colloidal silver and black seed oil to kill any possible infection. However, it is still lingering and I was wondering if there were any suggestions for other things I could try. Thanks in advance!

StudentI’ve been using Mullein to help with my cough any time I get a cold and it really helps calm down my lungs

StudentGreg Mullein is fantastic..I am inclined to wake up with a headache and have had sinus all my life. I have been taking about a quarter teaspoon of Mullein every morning and it makes an enormous difference. Its good for digestion as well. Helps to keep all the mucous membranes clear and is very safe.

StudentI’m curious what herbs you have been taking? The first that comes to my mind is mullein as well. But there are others that are good like elecampane for getting gunk out of your lungs. But maybe it’s a dry cough? Also antispasmodics are good like gumweed. Or sometimes something like yarrow just to sooth the tissue.

StudentEdit: Not yarrow! That’s supposed to be mallow.

StudentDo you know the cause of your chronic cough? There are a number of serious conditions that can cause a chronic cough, for which different herbs/herbal formulas would be appropriate, while others may not be appropriate.

Homestead InstructorThere are lots of good cough suppressant and expectorant herbs. Lots of good bronchodilators to help move air too.
Have a look at these formulas:

StudentThanks for asking this question! Our whole family went through this, and I didn’t have the tools yet to try, so did the common OTC stuff to finally get rest against everything in my being! I’ve also run into many people in town that went the antibiotic route. NOPE! Don’t want that working against our overall immunity. I also like knowing about fermented honey garlic as a natural antibiotic and had some of that ready.
Thanks again!
