StudentI have an 11 year old shepherd who I currently have on 1 teaspoon of Doc’s joint support powder a day for her hips. She has had lyme’s disease twice. And though she doesn’t seem to be in pain, I am considering adding teasel root into her diet. I am wondering do you think it would be wiser to remove all herbs for a few days and then start the new herb? I can’t really think of another way to see IF she needs both or if one or the other would suffice. On the other hand…Well, that’s my quandary…
BTW, The Joint support formula has brought the dog back to her old self, personality wise, but she still struggles at times to move fluidly, but as an old shep, maybe that is me asking too much. I’d sure like if she could wag her tail again.
Thanks for listening,
Susan Scaccia from PA

StudentHI Susan,
It sounds like Docs joint support formula is doing good for your shepherd. It seems you should keep that going.
I have also discovered teasel with his new videos and am really amazed by it. I think you could still give it to your dog and if there is any residual of the lyme disease, teasel would seeem to help. Plus it helps with nerve issues, so it could be beneficial with joints too. It seems you could do both and be good.

StudentTopic AuthorUpdate: Shep…wagged her tail! She almost knocked everything off the coffee table, I think she was surprised too!
And just yesterday she went happily jogging behind her little buddy in the backyard! And played with her tennis ball 🙂
I have given her about a half teaspoon of teasel root powder once a day for a week along with a half teaspoon of joint support powder that she has been getting for at least 2 months. I started with higher doses of joint support powder (2 teaspoons once a day, she showed discomfort at that level) so I backed her up to only 1 teaspoon, then when I added the teasel root (one teaspoon), and she is now taking about 3/4 teaspoon of each once a day.
It might be magic, or a miracle or…this herb thing really, really works! (I try to subdue my optimism bias 😉
Doc Jones, if you are out there, THANK YOU! I have missed this dog for way too long, and here she is her old self again.
God Bless you, Doc
Now, anything to bring her eyesight back?
Merry Christmas to you all,
Sue
