I have a question. My Mom has heart disease, diabetes and chronic liver disease. She recently moved to a Nursing Home and therefore changed Doctors. The Doctor recently put in an order to take her off Glipizide and be place on Jardiance instead. I was told the reason was because of her Chronic Liver Disease. The nurse went on to say, her Liver levels have not changed since she has been in the Nursing Home but the Doctor wanted to change the med because Jardiance would protect the liver more. However, when I did my research Jardiance has several more side affects and one word of caution that flagged me was the article stated if you have severe kidney disease, you should not take Jardiance. My Glipizide research did not indicate the same warning level for sever liver disease.

What combination of medicinal herbs could I use to improve her kidney function while not causing harm to her diabetes and heart disease?

Yes, I do plan on discussing with the Doctor as well so he/she is aware of what other medicines I am looking into.
