Apparently we have been one of many who have had doggos with “ODD” allergic reactions this year. We have a 3 year old English Lab (“Cash”), who eats a raw fermented diet, along with a little supplementation of a well known kibble. (mainly for some crunch). He had begun to attempt to scratch constantly; belly, back, legs, head, ALL over and NONE STOP! Within 48 hours, he had caused some pretty ugly damage. We immediately stopped his kibble and the scratching stopped within a half a day. Upon asking around, several friends have had similar issues. None live in proximity to each other, no chemicals on lawns etc. No explanations whatsoever, just seems like all of a sudden. Just looking to get input from others and see if there are any ideas that might cause us to have an “ah ha” moment?

Sounds like a food allergy.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Hello Dr. Jones, I had 2 cats and changed the hard food to help my 16 yr old that I just lost. My 14 yr old ate that food, loved it, and now has a severe allergic reaction. It is one month now and she is getting worse. I stopped the food right away. I was able to put some castor oil over the sores that she now has from removing her fur. It helped a bit so she would not keep biting. It seems to me she has the sores inside and out. She has bad breath and an ouder from her rear end. She has lost some weight but eats small amounts as I feed her soft Iams food. I will take her to the vets. Should I avoid antibiotics? What could be given to heal her from the inside, even her throat seems itchy.And it is a cat and she is hard to treat. Any advice is welcomed. What herbs can heal the sores inside and out? Thank you.
