I was recently diagnosed with an auto immune disease. Cardiac sarcoidosis, which I will be seen by a Director of the Sara team on February 5, 2024. I am currently following Barbara O’Neill to change my diet and figure out what I am capable of doing. Any strenuous activity makes me stop dead in my tracks. Before I was diagnosed, my heart rate was 35 bpm which they gave me a pacemaker with two leads. Now that I am diagnosed with sarcoid, I have the wrong pacemaker, because I needed defibrillator.

With all that being said, I am looking for alternatives to medication. It seems that steroids, correct the problem for a short time. I don’t want to continually take steroids if something God created can be taken to make the body do its job.

Any, and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Blessings to all!

I’m so sorry to hear that.  My brother in law was diagnosed with the same in his lungs about 4 years ago.  The steroids are really causing him problems.   I had no idea that high\long term steroids can cause so many problems like becoming susceptible to other infections. I’m new student here and I hardly ever take pharmaceuticals so I am at a loss when people name this or that drug.  I know this is a challenging condition.  I admire that you are looking for natural alternatives; may God be with you on this journey and point you in the right direction.   Please let me know what you  find out.

                Hi Sharon,

I have a brother in law with pulmonary sarcoidosis. Brigham tea has been a huge blessing for him. I have no experience with the cardiac version.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

Thank you.  I had researched Mormon tea for my lungs before.  I recently cut out caffeine and changed it to Mormon tea…  It was a rough process, but if it will help me in the long run, I’m willing to try it.  Thank you so much for teaching what you know!  My heart started racing out of control, I used cayenne pepper in a shot of water and it stopped almost instantly!

I’m taking this course to help myself and family and friends.  I just started a Facebook page, “Back To The Garden” which I will offer herbs once I start growing them.  I will be referring my clients to you for now!

                    Blessings,  Sharon

Thank you so much Patrick Jones!  Changing my coffee over to Mormon tea in February has changed quite a bit.  I no longer use my daily inhaler or even my emergency inhaler for my asthma!  Plus I haven’t needed medication for my allergies as well!  So not only does it give me the effect of coffee, it really helps my other issues as well!

I’m still on this long journey with cardiac sarcoidosis!  I have been following you and Barbara O’Neill for a while now!  I changed my diet back in January to eliminate wheat, sugar, corn soy and milk.  (Eliminated caffeine in February!). Getting rid of all the inflammatory foods really helped my second pacemaker surgery.  I had a pacemaker put in August 31, 2023 and it took 4-6 weeks to heal.  Then I was diagnosed with cardiac sarcoidosis and needed a pacemaker with a defibrillator.  That was done in February 22, 2024.  The healing time (because of my diet!) was completed within 3 weeks!!!  I can’t believe how great I feel on this new diet!  I eliminated all the processed foods that man created and only eat what God created.  I can’t say that it is an easy diet to follow, but how I feel is so worth changing what I eat.

The Cardiac Sarcoidosis Team that I see in Johns Hopkins in Baltimore Maryland have been fabulous.  They listen to me when I talk about my diet change that was suggested from the Pastor of my church.  (Not that they really have much of a choice…lol!). I, also, told them that I am studying to be an herbalist and I am looking for more natural ways to heal the body.  They seem to be open to what I am saying, to a degree.  Since I am part of a study that just started in 2018, I am completely honest with what I am doing so they understand the changes in my numbers on my quarterly bloodwork that I need to have done.  (I’m hoping they become more open minded, but I’m sure that is just wishful thinking!)

I started taking 40 mg of prednisone in the beginning of my treatment plan.  Because of my diet change and other items, they have now reduced me down to 10 mg tablets once a day.  I started feeling the pressure in my chest again (not as bad as I did in the beginning!), but I do not want to up my steroid use, when I remembered that there is a herb that I remember reading about in my studies.  When I went to look for it, I couldn’t find it!  I would rather try to take a herbal supplement, then tell the doctors that I am having this problem…

If it doesn’t work, I will go the pharmaceutical route, but I would rather not.

Please help!  Thank you so much for your amazing course!  I’m so happy that I signed up for it!

                        Sincerely,

                        Sharon L Taylor

                        Blessings,
