StudentHi. I saw (after searching) that Dr Jones recommended his topical tincture. My questions are 1) how many times a day to apply, 2) how long would it take to remove, 3) is there an internal option to help?
thanks.

StudentI also heard DJ mention that tea tree oil does a great job of removing toenail fungus. I am struggling with that right now, and I have had no results with Kerasal, an over the counter topical gel.
A week or so ago, I began applying tea tree oil (aka melaleuca) to my big toenail after I had made the nail surface more porous by sanding it down with a coarse emery board. Since it is winter now and I am needing to wear socks, I keep it covered with a non-porous bandage during the day.
To my pleasant surprise, I am already beginning to see the discoloration disappear in the lower nail bed. YAAH! It is working!
It is a slow going process, but hang in there!

StudentHi Susan, Are you working on it internally as well? I’m just taking notes for reference 😉 Thanks … and speedy recovery for you!

StudentTea Tree oil is wonderful and cured my toenail fungus. My Dr said whatever I used to treat it I had to do it for a whole year but before the year was up (it was several months though) I developed an allergy to Tea Tree oil. Just be careful not to use it too long like I did.

StudentI am also dealing with a toenail fungus and tried many different things…I made an oregano tincture and have really decent results using it on my toe. Do you think adding a tea tree oil to this protocol could be even better and if so did you use tea tree essential oil or an oil you made infusing the actual herb? Also,,,, DJ taught about using tinctures in spray bottles..Im loving this! thanks Doc Jones

StudentTopic AuthorI hadn’t thought of oregano, but it might be interesting to try with the tea tree oil. Not sure it would mix well tho, the oil and the vodka, which is a water based mixture. Tho, this is an uneducated opinion… 🙂

Homestead InstructorTea tree oil is good. Fungal topical tincture is good…as are most of the single herbs in that formula.
The more frequently you put it on, the better/faster it will work.

StudentMy daughter has been battling a toenail fungus for a while. I have been using twice a day topically the Fungal tincture. Is it possible that there is something internally causing it? Or is it just something that gets in the nail and can only be treated topically?

It can get deep into the nooks and crannies of the tissue it damages so it really is a superficial infection. That said, there’s no reason not to attack an infection from both sides. In addition to using antifungals topically, you could take them internally (ie… the Candida Formula, or something similar). Other things that can help would be a really clean diet low in simple carbs and some Immunity Support.
The recipes for all of those formulas are here:
