Some of my favorite remedies to use are spices and foods such as: turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper, cloves, tart cherry, lemon, honey, onion, garlic, etc.  Since these are actual food items, I was thinking they would be safe to take with most meds. (With the exception of garlic if someone was on a blood thinner.) Is my thinking way off? And if so, which of these spices and foods should be ok to take with meds? Asking for a friend? Lol

At culinary doses they’re all safe with meds for the most part. When you start using medicinal doses, you have to be just as careful as with other herbs.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
