        Hi everyone,

My grandmother struggles with joint pain in her hips and knee. I know that tumeric and ginger have anti-inflammatory properties. I was wondering if anyone has had success with either or have any other suggestions.

        Thank you !

Yesterday my father was complaining about some pain and inflammation in his knuckles and I slathered some turmeric mixed with jojoba oil onto his knuckles and within an half hour the pain had lessened and his fingers felt looser and not so swollen. I also applied some cayenne tincture onto his knuckles. I haven’t tried ginger yet but I am interested in making a joint relief tincture that includes it.

Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer!

My OD recommended castor oil on my arthritic hand joints.  I apply it at bedtime and wear white cotton gloves.  It does seem to take some of the soreness away.

Do be careful on putting turmeric on skin, it stains pretty good!

Doc talked about yucca root and how it has similar properties to prednisone without the side effects. I think I may try that.

I make a comfrey salve with coconut oil and you can add cayenne, essential oils or whatever you want. I find that comfrey has helped alot with joint pain. My other go to is nettle. You can combine them. DMSO is used alot in the animal world but it does have benefits for humans as well. My sister uses a salve that is made with arnica and DMSO for her knees.
