I have recently found black willow on our property. Salix Nigra. Can I use black willow the same way one would use white willow?

We also found a ton of cherry trees, and a tree I had never heard of before called Quince. Anybody have any experience, or know anything about Quince trees and fruit? Are they medicinal?
