I have an abundance of old dried herbs and was going to throw them out.  Would it be beneficial to put them in our compost pile or till them into the garden?

          Hi Gina,

I do both – compost or toss them directly into the garden.

I’ve heard of people taking the unwanted weeds from their yards and fermenting them with water in a lidded bucket for free fertilizer. I don’t see why you couldn’t do that as another possibility! Who knows, maybe some of the known bug repellent herbs would still carry over as garden protection (depends how the chemicals change through the fermenting process).
