Are there any herbs that could have helped with the following issue?

Before my father passed away he had a terrible open bed sore with an unknown type of bacterial infection in the sacrum area.

The dr.s dared not take a bone sample without surgery, (due to the bone being covered with tissue), to evaluate if the bone was also infected, in order to know what medicine could be used to fight the infection to help with healing.

I am now helping my elderly mom who is mobile but should this issue manifest in her I would like to deter/prevent the possible issue.

I hope I am posting correctly as this is my first day and I am truly honored and delighted to be part of this herbal community.  I have already learned so much peeking through the forums.
