StudentHello everyone!
I have just found out that my neighbor has prostate cancer. It is at the beginning stages and they are just watching it so that’s good. His wife has asked me to look into natural medicine that can help. I have talked to her about changing his diet as they don’t eat the best. Problem is he is on about a dozen perscription meds. He has had a 5 bypass surgery and has a pacemaker and also has diabetes. I have looked at Doc’s prostate formula but some it appears can’t be taken with prescriptions. I am hoping someone (s) can help me come up with some herbs for this purpose that don’t have any contraindications. I have just harvested my corn but it appears it can’t be taken with prescription meds. Has anyone had any success with treating prostate cancer? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!!

StudentYou’ll want to check out this lesson to learn more about how cancer works, and then check out slide 57
I would certainly start off by recommending some green tea and changing up diet, that would be a huge place to start

StudentTopic AuthorThank you so much Gregg! I am curious to know if anyone knows WHY you can’t use corn silk with pharmaceuticals? Everywhere I look it says not to but no one seems to know why. Just a broad sweep. I am thinking maybe a good nutritive would be a good place to start as well. I am just harvesting my garden and have lots of herbs including corn silk I can use but his crazy amount of meds limits things. Thank you for any help you can offer!

StudentHello Tracy,
I am sorry to hear about your neighbor ! I would suggest him taking Ivermectin as the results are amazing for cancer patients ! I will send some links of videos on Ivermectin for cancer below (just t0 be clear this is not to relieve pain but to actually cure the cancer. )

Homestead InstructorI’d be unlikely to do anything herbal with a person on twelve meds that also going to be doing surgery, radiation or chemo for cancer. There’s a high likelihood that the herbs would undo what the drugs are trying to do.
For the corn silk question…
Corn silk can lower blood sugars a bit, so that can be a problem with meds that do the same;
It can also lower blood pressure a bit so can be a problem with drugs that also lower BP.
It’s also a good diuretic so it may increase elimination of some drugs.
Have a look at this lesson to understand drug and herb questions better.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.

StudentTopic AuthorThank you everyone! They are not doing anything about it right now as they are just watching it. I have talked about his diet and he has changed a few things but he is one of those people that is reluctant to change it as he is quite picky and really dislikes anything green lol. So there is no treatment right now at all, no chemo either. I was thinking a nutritive would at least give him some support. Is it fair to say that because a nutritive is a combined product the individual herbs are not really at medicinal doses?
