StudentMy daughter is 36. She suffered a traumatic event at the age of 15 and ever since then she has had many issues with digestion. Her body will not voluntarily eliminate. She eats well/clean but she has to try many means to eliminate up to enemas monthly. I made up a formula Cascara sagrada, slippery elm, dandelion leaf, chamomile, and peppermint. It has done nothing for her. Someone please help.

StudentHello Sophia,
Maybe she should make a consultation with Doc Jones if that’s possible, or see a doctor and go from there if she hasn’t already? Especially if she is taking any medications then that would be a needed start. Even though I’m new and have lots to learn still, I can give you my 2 cents anyways in case anything might help. I have a son that gets constipated easily and after I stopped drinking coffee my body did not want to have a bowl movement for quite sometime. So, I’ve done some research and some things that I found helpful was: taking acidophilus daily (helpful good bacteria for intestinal tract), making daily smoothies with fruit and veggies and flaxseed or psyllium seed (or maybe both is okay, but usually I do just flaxseed) and/or chia seeds, fresh ginger, and aloe juice (when I have it), and sometimes I add Triphala powder to a smoothie. Some other things that are helpful are; drink lots of water, exercise often, decrease high fat dairy and meat, increase high pectin foods such as apples, beets, cabbage (maybe look up more foods), increase fiber foods, make sure she’s getting enough magnesium too. I have my son soak in a bath with magnesium flakes, and I have made a homemade magnesium spray that I’ve used even though I prefer to get vit. and minerals from diet, but she can find what works best for her for getting enough magnesium. I found and tried a quick constipation relief involving just water and it worked for me: Drink a large glass of purified/high quality water every 10 minutes for half an hour. When I did that after the 3rd glass (30 min mark) I was able to have a BM. For me, I did the detox this year from Doc Jones and if I was having stomach/digestive issues I’d probably do the leaky gut protocol too or at least do the leaky gut wether I did a detox or not. I hope your daughter finds relief can regain having normal bowl movements again. Goodluck to her and you!
Take Care,
Jamie

StudentHave been working with some elderly family members, and have found that water and fiber are not enough for a very dry constitution. Have you tried cod liver oil (comes in capsules of several sizes, including mini capsules) or flax seed oil? You would most likely have to increase the dose two oe three times the recommended amount on the label, but those two oils (I’m sure there must be more choices) have worked miracles for my elderly family members when only enemas worked before trying the oils. Good luck!

Dr. Patrick Jones
Homestead InstructorHi Sophia,
I’d do gentle bulking laxatives like pumpkin, squash, psyllium and lots of water. Other options would be auricular therapy (senf me an email and I’ll send you the points) for constipation and PTSD. I also love the Rezzimax Tuner for this sort of thing.
