It’s been a while since here last– I am a rookie student. I need to find a solution to a special health issue. At the moment I’m worrying about my neighbor, she had  surgery on her foot and her wound can’t close and completely heal. They told her they might have to remove the rod they installed on her toe to see if that would fix the problem. Can anyone tell me what is the poultice with tincture used to assist in the healing process of wounds that don’t want to close. Thanks for reading my inquire would really appreciate your help with this.

              Welcome back Maria!

For getting a wound to close with a tincture, I would use a comfrey tincture that you can buy from Doc directly if you don’t have one on hand. However, since it is an alcohol base, it’ll sting pretty good being put on an open wound, so you’d probably want to dilute it. A Comfrey poultice would also do well in getting the wound to close up. You will want to make sure the wound doesn’t get infected, so be sure to add in some antiviral and antibacterial herbs with it. My favorite go to is Calendula so I would do a mix of both of those herbs if I was really trying to get a wound to heal up. Also, if you want to email Doc directly, I think somewhere on the forum he posted it….found it: doc@homegrownherbalsit.net he’s a pretty busy guy though so don’t despair if it takes a little bit for a response

Greg, thanks so much for replying to my question– you’re so kind. Comfrey and calendula sound great, I’ll make sure to have it handy. However what I was looking for was a poultice Doctor Jones gave an example on a tracheostomy incision that couldn’t close –they applied some sort of tincture-poultice after they had tried modern medicine and procedures. The poultice was successful over modern medicine. I will email Doc Jones. Muchas gracias!
