Hello Dee, it is wonderful to read your post.  Our stories are very similar because my husband and I moved from Colorado to Missouri which allowed me to retire from nursing and begin my journey on our small 5-acre hobby farm raising our own meats and growing our own vegetables to beginning to grown herbs for food and medicinal uses.  I also went to the Homesteaders Conference in Marshfield and listened to Dr Jones and asked my husband if I could embark on this journey.  I’ve been a little slow here at the start as I work on my scheduling of time to sit at the laptop and learn.  I would much rather be outside than sitting.  Winter is a great time to make me get this class started.  I hope your journey is as wonderful as I expect mine to be.
