Any thoughts or advice is appreciated 🙂 I have a small open sore on my nose from what I think was a pimple a couple of months ago. The darn thing wont heal. It just scabs over and then the scab comes off and there’s still a hole there. It will bleed a little and start to scab over again. I’ve never had a problem with skin healing issues. Could this be liver related? I am menopausal too, so maybe that? On top of that, about 2 weeks ago I got an insect bite on my leg just above my ankle and scratched the snot out of it. It looked innocent enough at first, but after a couple of days it swelled up and got hard. Then it became so painful that it hurt to put any pressure on my food at all. I went to Urgent Care to make sure it wasn’t Staph or anything serious. I was prescribed oral antibiotics (which i didn’t take) and a topical antibiotic that I am using. It is taking a lot longer to heal then I am used to. It makes me wonder what is going on that I am dealing with wounds/sores that dont want to heal. I think it could be liver related because my elderly mother was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that metastasized to her liver. Once the cancer got outside of the colon, it ravaged her liver so fast we almost lost her. I also know that her paternal grandfather died of liver related disease.

Now that I know the infection is clearing up on the bug bite, i am going to forego the topical antibiotic and use my comfrey/cayenne salve I made on that and my nose and see what happens.

Pisa, I had a small open sore on my temple that wouldn’t heal that was diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma.  It behaved just as you described,    While the liver can affect cancer, I would get a solid diagnosis before I decided on a protocol.  Best wishes!

Thank you Laura. I was wondering if that was a possibility too. I guess I’ll have to make an appointment with a dermatologist soon. No sense in taking any chances with possible cancer.

I am an FNP that worked in dermatology. My first thought based on your description, that it could be a precancer (actinic keratosis). For some people when you pull of the crust it feels like a sticker inside the skin. Don’t worry about the cancer word. These take a while to turn into a cancer and even then they are super easy to treat. Just get in to see your dermatologist.

I have seen my GP and she is scheduling me with a dermatologist after the first of the year. Thank you for your advice 🙂
