Haven’t figured out quite the reason for it other than the generic ‘all dogs do that’ answer. Was wondering if there might be a deficiency in a dogs diet being sought out – more fiber maybe? I have two small dogs, one a long-haired female Chihuahua and another Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher cross male (mostly Min Pin attributes, except maybe for the attitude – was supposed to also have been a long-haired Chihuahua, but, well, you know). Anyway, I have a good sized back yard that they love that is a combination of lawn, flowers, herbs and veggies, and they are consistently grazing a bit every day – not a lot, but very selectively – mostly the most tender and new grass growing around the raised beds. Got me wondering if there was something, trace element or such, that was missing in their diet. Both are very healthy and active – so I guess I have more of a curiosity about it than a problem. Size alone would indicate there is no Angus background! (-:
