StudentSo I just recently had someone ask me if there is anything I had that could help with a skin issue they were having. He said that he had this skin condition on the back of his head that anytime it gets touched it bothers him to an extreme degree. I thought well, if it’s a skin condition I know lots of things that can help! He turned and showed me the back of his head and at the bottom of his hair line he had TONS of red bumps that he said were ingrown hairs. The patch of skin affected was about 2 inches long by 1 inch wide and I mean, it was filled with all of these red bumps that kind of looked like pimples, so he was probably right on the ingrown hair thing. I searched through the forum and the school and couldn’t find anything so I’m hoping somebody here has an idea, cause I’m pretty stumped on how to go about addressing this

StudentI’d try plantain to draw out the hairs along with a skin soother like chickweed. Curious if he wears a hat regularly? A baseball cap or hard hat for work? Does he work around particulate matter or dust? Maybe rests his head on a PLU sofa arm every evening? I’d check if there’s an external factor blocking the pores on that specific area.

StudentMaybe you can use whole flaxseed ? Heat the whole flaxseeds with some water. Probably 1 big spoon of flaxseed is enough. Add little by little some more water. Stir/ move/mix it all the time. The amount of flaxseeds and water you need depends on how big the place is where you want to put it on. Stop when the flaxseed and water is one slimy/mucous substance. Let it cool down till you don’t burn the skin anymore. Than put the slimy flaxseed on the skin for a while. Mosttimes when I use it I let it on me as long as possible till it goes off by itself. Sometimes I sleep with it a whole night. However I don’t know if it is useful for ingrown hair. I didn’t try it myself for ingrown hair yet. But on red bumps I have had used it before. But I never have had that many red bumps.
