I’m a new student, have been following Doc Jones for about 6 months now. Was listening to a podcast, Prepping 2.0 and he was on the show and very entertaining and what he knew about herbs was really great. I bought an app for identifying weeds/herbs and this spring was delighted to find plantain on my new property.

Hi Greg and welcome! When I started identifying plants where I live I found over 50 different kinds on 20 acres. It’s amazing what we just walk over without even noticing! What do you plan to do with your plantain? I have a patch of it too.

I will probably make a tincture with the plantain. My wife found the herbs I was drying out along with thistle and threw them away while cleaning up. I found several large patches coming in now, they are really small now but everywhere. We have 5 acres so looking forward to planting a lot more!!

My plantain is growing in a field that gets mowed all the time, so I need to figure out how to save it from the mower. Lol All the best with your wildcrafting!
