There was an old post about this but it was closed. When a formula calls for aerial parts, especially in a pregnancy or baby formulas, how important is it that it is only aerial? I can only find catnip sifted online and it seems to always be stems and aerial parts. I am aware that usually means it has the medicinal properties, just making sure the stem/root aren’t an issue when dealing with babies. Thanks!

Aerial parts is just anything above the ground, so the stems are technically included in the aerial parts so you should be just fine.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
