StudentHi,
I have been looking at the herbal infusion machines (Levo & The Magical Butter  Machine) and found one that is ultrasonic (Altafuse) and wondering if anyone has used them or found any research on them. I have just been trying to find out if they work great or terrible.  Do the ultrasonic waves affect the herbs negatively or positive making the infusion better… it definitely sounds like a great way to infuse and super time saving.
Thanks!
Helen

StudentHi, I have been using a vevor ultrasonic cleaner to fast track the infusion of the Oak flavors from Oak chips into my alcohol with success and think it would work as well with herbs, but whilst I can get the color, iam not sure about the quality a herbal infusion would have.
I need to find out from a higher source the answer to this one. Cheers, Jeff-

StudentDoc, please weigh in on this topic? I know there are the ultrasonic cleaning machines that some use, but I’ve looked at (and have no idea on the price yet as you have to “request a quote” which is scary!) on the lab type sonicators/homogenizers like Hielscher makes that are capable of making “true liposomal” products (they explain why ultrasonic cleaners do not make them), and they show it being used for different herbs as well as cold brew coffee (my hubby’s favorite trigger!). I would like to know if this works better than just sitting in alcohol for 2-4 weeks, or not. It sure would be a time and space saver when making tinctures so there aren’t jars sitting all around in various stages of maceration. I started this information quest for making liposomal vitamins such as vitamin C. Please advise on what you know or find about this topic? Hope this finds you healthy as a horse these days – we need you to guide us thru all the things we don’t know! 🙂
