Is it possible to have get information on Solomon’s Seal, Polygonatum spp. I do not see this name in the herb list. Thank you!

I was going to ask about this too! I have access to so much Solomon seal and even made a tincture with it…but then, I haven’t used it because I’m not sure how.

Thanks Sarah…. I use it in a pain tincture that I make and would love to learn all about what else it might be used for. If you have a ton of it. Good on you! I have tried growing it here with very little success, but today it is -48F so that might be a good reason. Hope that Homestead Academy will pick this one up. All the best!

Oh wow! That’s cold! I’m in Oklahoma and it’s rare to get below -10.
Would you mind sharing your pain tincture recipe? 🙂

We live in the very northern corner of Ontario Canada (Dryden) and yup we get lots of cold and lots of snow. I am happy to share my formulation BUT, please, please make sure that what I have created is ok for you. Send me an email to cmurphy629@yahoo.ca. I had L4,L5 back surgery a couple of years ago and it made me worse than if I had never had it, so I have been trying for years to come up with something that would get me off of over the counter and prescription drugs. I am right now on day 7 of no Advil and day 2 of no Advil night time. So for me I think this is working slowly. I have been on it now for just about a month. 1 tsp three times a day in a tiny bit of water. It tastes AWFUL !!

Great that it’s starting to show you some relief Christine – have you ever tried it topically? I have tried for my back, both orally and topically, but maybe I just didn’t stick with it long enough. Or maybe because my issue is structural (severe scoliosis) that it doesn’t help?? I’m going to email you for the recipe to see if it might help me. Thanks!

Solomon’s Seal is a good herb. I have a mostly-finished quickview on it. I’ll finish it and put it up. :0)
